25 Year Timeline

This year we celebrated reaching 1,108 homes across Montana since we began in 1994. We’re also under construction in Livingston and Whitefish, the 12th and 13th communities where we’ve built or preserved homes Montanans can afford.

Our Regional HomeOwnership Center in Missoula celebrated empowering more than 15,000 people to better their financial futures through knowledge and skills they’ve gained.

25 years ago, we were a staff of one and began a project through which women living on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) were empowered through education and counseling to purchase one of four townhomes in Missoula as part of a lease to own program.

We’ve celebrated many successes since then, now with 12 employees, thanks to people like you who recognize the strength in joining together to create a brighter future for all.

Today, our work is more critical than it has ever been. Communities across Montana need homes local families and workers can afford to rent or buy. In addition to innovative projects, like the Montana Street Homes in Missoula, and valuable education and skill building, we are working to affect policy at the local and state levels.

We envision a Montana where local workers and families can afford to live in safe, healthy homes and be engaged in their communities. A Montana where people are empowered to make wise financial decisions that benefit them long-term and set positive examples for their children. A Montana with strong communities made of people who care for each other and whose homes and financial strength allow them to focus on bettering their families and neighborhoods.

We’re excited to see how, together, we will further strengthen Montana communities so our elders, children and friends returning from service will enjoy the comforts of home and good quality of life for decades to come.

Together we are creating sustainable communities for all. Thank you!
