FOR ART
By earmarking 1%
of its construction budget and leveraging that with private funding
sources, homeWORD has created a unique system that allows art to be
an integral part of housing development. The process includes soliciting
local and regional artists to submit proposals and a community artist
selection, resulting in amazing art for residents and the community
to enjoy. The
goal of our innovative 1% for Art program is to support the arts
community and demonstrate how a commitment to including art within
the design
of housing fosters a rich and vibrant urban fabric.
After the success
of our Gold Dust development in Missoula, the City Council passed
a resolution supporting 1% for Art in all public buildings in Missoula,
replicating homeWORD’s support of and belief in local art
installations within the urban corridor.
Our 1% for Art
program has been a part of the following developments:
Orchard Gardens:
Art by Jason Gutzmer
The
Acme: Art by
Noellyn Pepos and Dan Radven
The Gold Dust: Art
by Jennifer Reifsneider and Kevin Corra
