DESIGN CHARRETTE PROCESS

homeWORD uses all means to include its low-income beneficiaries, residents, neighbors, and stakeholders in the decision-making that affects our proposed affordable housing developments by conducting a formal charrette process during the pre-development stage. The design charrette is key to designing housing that meets the needs of our residents and fits within the character of each neighborhood.

The charrette process is a public design meeting where interested community members come together to brainstorm ideas around the design, siting, development, and management of our proposed housing developments. The process has proved invaluable, so much so, that homeWORD has made the charrette a trademark of its development process.
