It’s good to be back on Home Blog and we’ve got a lot to update you on. First, remember to come to Kettlehouse Northside (313 N. 1st Street West, Missoula) Wednesday, December 7th, for Community Unite. From 5 to 8 pm you can drink delicious local made brew and support Homeword and affordable housing at the same time. Homeword's Gold Dust property is right across the street from Kettlehouse N. side. ‘Tis the season to be merry – come join us for a toast to good health and prosperity for the New Year.
Solstice is leasing up fast! This award winning development in the heart of Missoula offers 34 affordable apartments to those earning limited wages or on fixed incomes. There are already 24 households living in the Solstice and if you or someone you know is looking for quality, affordable housing please contact our property management company, MHA Management, for an application.
Solstice, a mixed-use property built with resource and energy efficiency, is also built with people of all abilities in mind. Solstice is universally designed and includes many accessible units for those with physical, hearing or visual impairments.
We’ve been so inspired to learn the stories of people who have made Solstice their home. For one man, this is first time he’s lived on his own since his significant injury. He communicates with body language only and he embodied the true meaning of the "happy dance" the first day he moved into his new apartment. The sheer diversity of folks living under one roof is remarkable. But one thing is constant – they all have housing that was built with aesthetics and respect in mind. Quality, affordable housing with thoughtful design impacts people in ways that many of us take for granted. We’re honored to contribute to the fabric of our community by building properties with these ethics in mind.
We’re ready to celebrate by hosting the Grand Opening of Solstice on Thursday, February 2, 2012. Mark your calendars! More details to come.
