Kaitlyn Opperman
she, her
Junior Project Manager
Kaitlyn first joined Homeword as our sustainable development intern in the summer of 2023 and was thrilled to return in 2025 as our administrative specialist. In 2026, Kaitlyn became a junior project manager, helping guide projects that bring affordable housing to communities across Montana. Kaitlyn supports the development team in the coordination and administration of affordable housing projects during design and construction. This position focuses on project tracking, documentation, reporting and budget-monitoring while developing the skills necessary to advance into a project manager role. Her work includes project coordination and tracking, budget and reporting support, regulatory and administrative support and cross-department coordination. She works closely with partners and team members to ensure each development supports Homeword’s mission and values.
Originally from out of state, Kaitlyn moved to Montana in early 2020 after years of visiting and planning to move here one day. When the chance to make it home came along, she jumped at it.
A self-proclaimed "neat freak" with a love for stationery and organization, Kaitlyn thrives on streamlining processes and tackling detail-oriented projects. Her best days are spent bringing order to chaos.
Kaitlyn earned her bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Montana, with a concentration in sustainable livelihoods and communities. She enjoys putting her education into action while supporting Homeword’s mission through her work.
